We left a perfect life in one of the nicest areas of the pretty city of Hamburg: an awesome apartment, the best friends ever, caring kindergarden for the kids, fresh and clean air, a country with four seasons, a nice car, and our families – all this to move to a country we didn´t even know.
Mommy lost in the tropics, that was how I first felt in the Philippines. Can you imagine moving from the safest place on earth, where you can walk with the kids to the supermarket, use public playgrounds and ride everywhere via bicycle to one of the most congested and polluted cities in the world? To Manila…
Well, for me it was the hardest decision I ever made. My husband had a clear thought of what will be coming for him, he was offered this great job in the capital of the Philippines. Myself, I had to decide, if I really want to follow my love and give up all my comfy life in Hamburg, including my own company for being a mom. Just a mom.
I founded a company five years ago together with my siblings – back than still living a single and free life of being able to do anything in the world I wanted to do. Life changed over the time and by today we have two adorable kids Ferdinand and Sophia and one second girl coming in July – none of them I want to miss ever again in my life.
I started this blog in order to encourage other women who have the same situation to make the best out of it – it is the most unforgettable experience I ever made in my life – but you have to commit many sacrifices for that change. And there are constant ups and downs in my life, in the whole family´s life, that you have to overcome together. But the fabulous thing about this blog is, I can finally do, what I always liked to do:
Share my passion for art, travelling, adventures and lifestyle and all that while being a mommy.
I left a glamorous life in the fashion industry, was former a head-buyer of one of the biggest German department stores. Later I lead a whole buying department at a sports-chain in Hamburg to finally quit and start my dream of founding an own company.
Well, you have to make decisions in life – mine was for the family and I am having the greatest time ever since I started working 10 years ago.
Feel free to contact me any time for questions, concerns, critics or your thoughts. I am happy to exchange experiences with all of you.
