as you have probably experienced, kids eat with their eyes. More than adults do. I also like aesthetic food, BUT my kids really love to eat creative food. They would never eat a carrot unless it is part of a bigger picture. They would never touch a red or yellow pepper, unless it is the body of a little girl or anything else creative.
I started all that funky food creation in the Philippines, where parents and helpers don´t do anything else but please their kids. I got some food and cookie cutters in Manila and fruits and veggies were no more problem in our family!
It should not become a norm and everyday standard. I still keep that repertoire for the special moments with my kids. But if you want them to eat some healthy stuff and they usually have a hard time swallowing those fruity and veggy friends, try some of those examples and you will instantly see a change!
TheTreasurette-Fave: Of course my favourite one is the peanut-butter&banana-dinosaur, because my lovely son is obsessed with dinosaurs!
TheTreasurette-Tip: Use your X-Mas cookie cutters or get yourself some professional food cutters. My best choice are those by Birkmann.
Love to hear about your kids reactions. I am such a fan of those creative platters! Small effort but a very big effect!
