It has been a while that you heard from me, maybe you know those weeks before christmas, where you should actually relax and chill, drink tea and chat with family and friends. Well instead it has been quite a busy time for a mom that always wants to get the things done quickly and perfectly right. Designing and printing X-Mas cards, creating kids-kalenders for the Advent-time, shopping all the presents for family and friends, crafting presents with the little ones for grandparents and godparents, baking and singing, preparing and cooking, there is so much a mom can do for her lovely ones that you can easily spend an 18-hour day doing those things. Plus breastfeeding in between, haha! You see, there is plenty of stuff next to the every-day-household-stuff that you can spend your time and efforts with.
BUT we take our advent-time, the time we are waiting for Christmas quite seriously in terms of meeting family and friends. This weekend I spend 3 days with my lovely old friend from my high school year in the US – I feel so lucky that I could stay in contact with her for almost 19 years now! With Toby and her lovely son, we did a lot of fun stuff. But the best she chose herself: Isabelle, can we PLEASE go to the MINIATURE WONDERLAND in Hamburg? Of course we can! And funnily our family never went till this day! Although it is the world’s largest model railway and Hamburg’s most popular tourist attraction. Can you believe that already 13 million visitors have been soaked into this amazing miniature world? On more than 1.300 sqm the huge miniature world shows eight different worlds with more than 215.000 figures and thousands of moving trains, cars, ships and planes.
You really should go there when you are visiting Germany, when you stop by in Hamburg. It is truly amazing! Have a look at this fun photo-story of my kids in the Miniatur-Wunderland. They loved it – we were there for almost 3 hours…
HSV-Arena in Hamburg, the Dammtor-Station and Main-Station in Hamburg.
A Christmas-Market and some hooligans flipping out in front of armed policemen.
Switzerland and Colorado in the US…
Area 51 in some unknown location in Nevada and Las Vegas and Miami Beach…
The harbour-city in Hamburg with the Elbphilharmonie.
Switzerland and Austria…
Rome and my lovely son who did want to lock himself in the Miniature-Wonderland-Lockers so he could stay there forever!
TheTreasurette-Tip: Please book yourself tickets in advance, or else you have to stand in line for a very long time. You just reserve your slot online and pay when you get there. Kids under 1 Meter are for free!
TheTreasurette-Fave: The airport is the greatest! Loved that area! You should try to plan more time for that – it is great for the kids! And they have a proper kiddie-toilet. Sooo cute. I think I was locked in that Bathroom for 15 minutes with the three kids, since all of them wanted to try out that cute bathroom-toilet!
Have a wonderful X-Mas time with your loved ones!
